Characteristics of dangerous goods

Characteristics of dangerous goods

Class 1 ADR-1 (ADR-1): explosive materials, which by their properties can explode, cause a fire with an explosive effect, as well as devices containing explosive substances and detonating means, designed to produce a pyrotechnic effect;

1.4 S explosive and pyrotechnic substances and products that have a slight risk of explosion during transportation only in case of ignition or initiation, which do not cause destruction of devices and packaging

Class 2 ADR-2 (ADR-2) compressed gases, liquefied by cooling.

Class 3 ADR-3 (ADR-3) flammable liquids, mixtures of liquids.

Class 4 ADR-4 (ADR-4) flammable substances and materials (except those classified as explosive), capable of easily catching fire during transportation from external sources of ignition, as a result of friction, absorption of moisture, involuntary chemical transformations, as well as during heating;

4.1. flammable solid substances that can easily ignite from the short-term action of external sources of ignition (sparks, flames, or friction) and burn actively;

4.2. self-igniting substances, which in normal conditions of transportation can involuntarily heat up and ignite;

4.3. substances emitting flammable gases

Class 5 ADR-5 (ADR-5) oxidizing substances and organic peroxides that can easily release oxygen, support combustion, and can, under appropriate conditions or mixed with other substances, cause spontaneous combustion and explosion;

5.1. oxidize substances that are not flammable in themselves, but contribute to the easy flammability of other substances and release oxygen during combustion, thereby increasing the intensity of the fire;

5.2. organic peroxides, which in most cases are flammable, can act as oxidizing substances and interact dangerously with other substances. Many of them ignite easily and are sensitive to impact and friction.

Class 6 ADR-6 (ADR-6) poisonous and infectious substances capable of causing death, poisoning, or illness when ingested or when in contact with the skin and mucous membrane;

6.1. poisonous (toxic) substances capable of causing poisoning by inhalation (vapors, dust), ingestion, or skin contact;

6.2. substances and materials containing pathogenic microorganisms dangerous for humans and animals.

Class 9 ADR-9 (ADR-9) substances with a relatively low risk during transportation, not assigned to any of the previous classes, but requiring the application of certain transportation and storage rules to them;

9.1. solid and liquid combustible substances and materials, which by their properties do not belong to the 3rd and 4th classes, but under certain conditions can be dangerous in terms of fire (flammable liquids with a flash point from + 61 ° C to + 100 ° C in a closed vessel, fibers, and other similar materials);

9.2. substances that become caustic and corrosive under certain conditions.
